Monday Motivation
Do stuff. Be clenched, curious. Not waiting for inspiration’s shove or society’s kiss on your forehead. Pay attention. Attention is vitality. It connects you with others. It makes you eager. Stay eager. SUSAN SONTAG Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working. PABLO PICASSO |
News and Announcements
The THRIVE Plan for Library Funding
At the November 15th election, there will be a proposal on the ballot
called the THRIVE Plan. This proposal will determine, among other things,
the future of funding for the East Baton Rouge Parish Library.
Library staff have been receiving a number of inquiries from patrons who are
confused about aspects of the THRIVE Plan. Many did not realize that:
1) The THRIVE Plan does not increase tax rates.
2) If the THRIVE Plan does not pass, the library will receive zero new funds in 2026.
If you have questions about the THRIVE Plan, the library is happy to provide information.
Please visit the online infoguide, attend one of the in-person informational sessions, or call Library Reference at 225-231-3750.
