SAVE THE DATE: COOL CAREERS SUMMER SERIES

What is it? 
A series of seminars, each one focusing on exploring a different career path.

Who is this for? 
Teens, 20-somethings, and adults who want to learn about what careers are out there
and whether certain jobs would be a good fit for them.

Who’s doing the seminars? 
Professionals who work in the chosen industry and can answer questions about
what the job is really like. Past presenters have come from such fields as
forensic science, robotics, videogame design, aerospace, logistics, and skilled trades.

When will this happen? 
Every Friday morning in June. Registration will be available in next month’s newsletter.

PRODUCTIVITY HOUR: RENEWED BY POPULAR DEMAND!
EVERY MONDAY IN MAY, 2025
6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Main Library at Goodwood
Room B, Second Floor

The Career Center’s Productivity Hour is for workers of all stripes – even students and hobbyists and non-busy-bodies. Bring your laptop, literature or project and join us for an hour-long session of productivity. Participants are expected to work quietly, but at the end of the session will be asked to share their progress.

Free Wi-fi access will be available, along with pen and paper, and light refreshments. Laptops are available upon request. Ages 16 and up are welcome to attend.
No registration required - just show up with your project!


RESUME-WRITING SEMINAR

will lead a workshop on writing a great resume.

Learn to structure your resume so that it showcases your most valuable skills.
Learn formatting techniques that will make your resume look clean and professional.
Learn the biggest red flags employers look for on resumes, and how to avoid them.
