News and Announcements

Library Proposes New Funding Plan;
Metro Council Will Vote on February 11th

The tax which funds the library (and therefore the Career Center) expired in December. The library has brought forth a new funding proposal: a renewal of the 10-year dedicated millage, at a reduced 9.5 mills rate, stand-alone for library purposes.

The Metro Council will meet on February 11th for a public hearing and discussion of the library’s proposal. The Metro Council will then vote on the measure. The proposal cannot move forward without Metro Council approval. If the Metro Council approves, the public at large will be able to vote on the millage at the June 27th election.
