What ELSE Can the Career Center Do for You?

You may have noticed that we only have one seminar series planned this month.
This is due to the fact that generally, people don’t come to seminars in December.
It’s a busy month; everyone has other things on their minds. Everyone except us, that is!
So we’re using this opportunity to remind everyone of the cornucopia of
free services we offer beyond our seminars and videos. Such as:

One-on-One Job Search Assistance
Need help choosing the right resume template? Writing and proofreading a cover letter? Designing a LinkedIn profile? Filling out an online application? Finding trustworthy job search websites? Our Certified Professional Resume Writers and Career Specialists can help with all this and more - no appointment needed.

In-Depth Appointments for Advanced Help
Conduct a practice job interview with an expert who will give you extensive feedback on your answers. Meet with a Certified Career Coach to brainstorm possible career options and decide on the best path for you. Take the STRONG Interest Inventory and discuss your results with a Certified Practitioner. Call 225-231-3733 to schedule an appointment.

Tailored Seminars for Your Group
Do you work for a school, nonprofit, or governmental organization?
Do you have a group of clients that would benefit from a career-focused seminar?
We can come to you or have your group come to the library.
We have seminars on a variety of topics, including resumes, interviews, work from home, job search scams, professionalism, and more. We can cater seminars to specialized audiences such as high school students or justice-impacted individuals.

Holiday Closings

The Career Center and the East Baton Rouge Parish Library will be closed all day on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

We will be open normal hours all other days in December, including New Year’s Eve.

The Career Center’s Productivity Hour is for workers of all stripes – even students
and hobbyists - who could use a little help with accountability. Bring your laptop, literature or project and join us for an hour-long session of productivity.
Participants are expected to work quietly, and at the end
of the session will be asked to share their progress.

Free Wi-fi access will be available, along with pen and paper, and light refreshments. Laptops are available upon request. Ages 16 and up are welcome to attend.
No registration required - just show up with your project!
